Germany Fishing Hut at Obersee

The fishing hut at Obersee in Berchtesgaden is located in the eastern part of the lake. It's a perfect foreground element for photography with a stunning view of the mountains in the background. Obersee is a natural mountain lake in the Berchtesgaden Alps in Upper Bavaria.

Take a polarizer and ND filters with you because the stones at the lake can create a beautiful foreground element for your photo.

You need to hike around the lake from the southern station at Königssee. Make sure to check when boats are travelling to Obersee because outside the season they are not shipping passengers.

It takes about 20 minutes by electric boat from the starting point "Königssee" to "St. Bartholomä". From there another 20 min. to the Saletalm.

From the southern end of Königssee, it is about a 15-minute walk to Obersee (north shore).

For the further 30 min. to the boathouse on the south shore, there is some climbing. The footpath is a little narrower and steeper - there is a rock wall on one side and a fence on the other. Everything is relatively well secured, but can actually be negotiated without any problems.

But be sure to pack sturdy shoes for hiking.

(On my way to the south shore, I saw two ladies in trainers/flip-flops who fell and broke something because of their poor footwear).
